Work-life balance in the context of changing families and labour market in Greece – WORLBAL

The project «Work-life balance in the context of changing families and labour market in Greece» WORLBAL (3939) is realized under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (FM – EEA period 2009-2014) in the priority sector « Academic Research». Managing authority is the General Secretary of Research and Technology (GSRT).

The project has the general objective to evaluate the needs and expectations of women and to define how they experience professional and family life reconciliation in Greece in times of crisis, while it is implemented by:

  • Family and Childcare Centre (KMOP) – Coordinator
  • National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) – Partner
  • Greek League for Women’s Rights (GLWR) – Partner
  • Social Science Research Institute, University of Iceland (UI) – Partner

The European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (FM EEA) has been established by Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway and aims to contribute to reducing disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations between the EEA countries and the EU countries in Central and Southern Europe.

In this context Greece has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the donor countries with the goal to develop partnerships and exchange knowledge and know-how.

In Greece the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) is responsible for the operation and coordination of the programme for the sector of Academic Research, funded with 2.996.311 €.
