Kendro Merimnas Oikoyenias kai Pediou (KMOP) is a non-profit organisation, founded in 1977, one of the oldest Greek NGOs with more than 35 years of accumulated experience in the provision of services to disadvantaged groups, the development of underprivileged areas, scientific research and provision of know-how in social policy issues. Until today KMOP has carried out a plethora of EU funded projects (e.g. Ambient Assisted Living – AAL, FP7) that included a research arm. Such projects were ‘HOPE’, ‘AGNES’, ‘TRAINUTRI’ and CITYSPICE. In addition, KMOP has implemented projects in the field of social policy in Greece and abroad. Currently, KMOP is implementing such a project in Kosovo, funded by the EU, in the context of the provision of technical assistance to the country’s government. More specifically the project “EU Support to Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in strengthening the mechanism for social services decentralisation”, EuropeAid/133845/C/SER/XK) aims at supporting governmental institutions at central and local level towards the quality improvement of social service delivery in Kosovo and the effective decentralization of social services in Kosovo towards those persons most in need (2014 – 2016). At the present project WORLBAL (3939) of the action «Work-life balance in the context of changing families and labour market in Greece – WORLBAL”, KMOP is the Project Coordinator.
