The project utilizes a complex methodology which uses quantitative and qualitative methods. More specifically, project methodology foresees four dimensions and four levels of analysis. Analysis data will be organized in three levels according to the Appreciative Inquiry Model. The four dimensions are:

  • Meta-analysis of existing research data and other material
  • Collection of original quantitative data
  • Collection of original qualitative data (case studies/interviews)
  • Collection of additional qualitative data (interviews with bodies at the political intervention level)

Subsequently, the four levels of analysis are:

  • The macroeconomic/social level examining the national context
  • The middle/corporate level examining reconciliation policies in a group of companies at the same geographical environment
  • The specific organizations level with specific professional-family life reconciliation policies
  • The micro/individual level

The project includes the following Work Packages (WPs):

WP0. Project Coordination and Overall Management

WP0 aims at ensuring the cohesiveness of all scheduled activities as well as the monitoring of the quality of their outputs. All activities included in this work package last throughout the project’s duration (9 months).

WP1. Literature and Research Review Frameworks

WP1 will provide a systematic review of the available literature and research thus allowing the comprehension of women needs and preferences in the pro and post crisis periods. In addition it will provide the project’s conceptual and empirical frameworks.

WP2. Empirical Research

WP2 comprises from the field research about working women. The research will record the way with which women evaluate local and national policy, their attitude and expectations and will take place in the area of Attica, in two provisional cities and two rural areas.

WP3. Case Studies on Work-Family Life Reconciliation

WP3 comprises from three case studies which will allow an assiduous study of the work and family environment of employed and unemployed women. These case studies are:

  1. Work-Life balance of women entrepreneurs
  2. Work-Life balance of women scientists/self-employed/employees
  3. Work-Life balance of unemployed scientist women

WP4. Assessment and Evaluation of Public Policies and Practices

WP4 will evaluate current state professional and family life reconciliation policies. As such, it will contribute to improving the effectiveness of public policies.

WP5. Policy Synthesis and Recommendations

WP5 is a proposal synthesis work package. These proposals will be applicable to women work-life balance in times of crisis.

WP6. Dissemination and Exploitation of the Project’s Results

WP6 includes dissemination and exploitation activities such as publications and press releases, an informative website and a final event at the project’s completion. Furthermore it includes the production of a book that will include the research results both in Greek and English.
